Better Gas Mileage

The rising price of gasoline is reducing our buying power and there is little we can do about that. But what we can do is, get more miles out of the gas we buy. Getting better gas mileage & gasoline conservation is our only way out of this dilemma! I have started this Blog to inform people about what they can do to conserve gasoline and the current issues in the petroleum industry that may affect the price of gasoline. Gas & Oil News

We have Crude Oil now at $60.98 for today's high and settling at $60.54 a barrel. When it comes to Crude Oil, supply and demand are at equilibrium and that's a problem when you try to make since out of the price increases. Supply & Demand at Equilibrium, should cause Price to be stable. Not with Crude Oil. Crude Oil is so important in making everything else work, that the Keepers of the World's Crude Oil Inventories will buy what they need to satisfy their Demand no matter the cost. They carefully watch the Supply Chain and try to foresee potential disruption possibilities. Any negative news or rumors from; the geopolitical arena, certain regional weather conditions, oil fields, global refineries, the chain of distribution, will cause oil to sell at a higher price, because of the fear of a disruption!
The National Average for Regular Unleaded Gasoline has, is, and will keep going up. The AAA Motor Club posted $2.203 a gallon for Regular Unleaded Gasoline today. That's only 7.3 cents off the all time high of $2.273 set on April 11, 2005. And if Crude Oil stays near or at $60 a barrel, the price of gas will shoot up to about $2.30 a gallon in the next Two weeks!

Gas & Oil News

What a week when it comes to the price of Crude Oil. Since last Monday Crude Oil has increased $3.75 a barrel to a new record high of $59.85 and settling at $59.37 today. It seems the driving force behind this current serge in price is the sustained fear supply will soon be outstripped by demand and refinery shout falls. This casts a bleak out look on the price of distillates.
The National Average for Regular Unleaded Gasoline moved up 6/10ths of a Cent to $2.146 a gallon over the weekend under pressure of falling U.S. inventories. Strong demand with no sign of letting up will also add to the upward price pressure on Gasoline and Diesel Fuel.

It seems the U.S. dodged another bullet when it comes to gasoline prices, Hurricane Arlene is making it's way through the Gulf of Mexico without causing any major problems or closures on the oilrigs in that region. But there still is an upward pressure on the price of gasoline at the pumps.

Few people realize, that Weather can affect the price of Crude Oil and Gasoline but it can and will. There is a Tropical Storm brewing and it looks like it's heading for the Gulf of Mexico. If this storm is fierce enough to cause a shut down of the oilrigs in that area, it will drive both the price of Crude Oil and Gasoline up.
